A Note From Richard III About Accessibility
We all have something; some you can see, some you cannot. Ryley and I both have Dyslexia. I did not find out until my junior year in college at age 29. I was both devastated and relieved as it explained a lot. I did not know I would have a son that is also dyslexic. Given my experiences, I was determined to make sure he would get the education he deserved. We enrolled him in an amazing school called Hamlin Robinson that I highly recommend. He came home one day and said he could not decide if he wanted to be like da Vinci or Picasso as they were both dyslexic.
I have embraced my hardships as a boy going through the public school system. The hardships I went through as a kid motivate me to advocate for those of us that do not have the gift of reading. While lying in bed one night contemplating the website we were designing for the beef business I thought of my frustrations with computers and reading. I figured there must be a program or an aid that could compensate for some of the difficulties that many of us face. I asked our web designers if such an application existed, and they soon found a couple programs to choose from. One that is free, and one that is pricey. I chose the pricey one, as you will see there is a wide spectrum of accommodations available. Please explore and see if there is a fit for you.
The original application came with a little icon that is in the footer of the page. I explained to our web designers that this button needs to be big, bold and up front or I will never see it. They obliged. To those of you with so many other gifts other than navigating through a world that reads, I hope you find my efforts to relinquish some of the frustration you may have helpful. I also hope you enjoy the site and our beef should you choose to place an order.
With earnest,
Richard III
